The "True" Birth-er Attack and Defense

I'm not a "Birth-er" as it's being defined. That is, I believe President Obama was born in the United States. Hawaii. But, trust me, if you're a liberal, you'll be calling me a "Birth-er", and much more, after I explain the altruistic debate people are having over this issue.

In simplest terms, here is the request: Mr. President, show us your Birth Certificate.

Seems comical, of course, because he's already provided a Certificate of Live Birth on the internet. And doesn't that mean he's an American Citizen?

No, it doesn't. Just means he was born. Now that you know this piece of information, I'm going to give you the true arguments for attack and defense in the Birth-er argument. If you really are sincere and open-minded, here are the points of contentoin that will win any discussion concerning President Obama's place of origin.

1. Trust, But Verify. This is a catch phrase, coming to fruition, by former President Ronald Reagan. In other words, President Obama, we understand and believe you, but there's nothing wrong with your constituents verifying the documentation.

2. It is a Constitutional Requirement. If the Constitution requires the President to be born in the United States, then under social contract theory, the burden is on him to provide the documentation.

3. He provided his Certificate of Live Birth, now he won't provide his Birth Certificate. Why not? President Obama has already released his CLB for display, but that did not answer the question. People are requesting his Birth Certificate. If he was so quick to release one document as proof, why not the other? He appears to be stalling and resisting its release.

Some Defenses. Here's what you say when you are attacked (And you will be.):

1. This is an insult to the President. In our country, workers are required to provide proof of citizenship. If that applies to us, why not the President? (In other words, everyone else is required, why not the President?)

2. This is ridiculous, stupid, and an attack by Racists. It's also part of the Constitution. (In other words, you're argument is now with the U.S. Constitution, not me.)
